    INTRODUCTION:

    Igatpuri, a gorgeous hill station and hypnotic beauty located in the Western Ghats’ Sahyadri Hills, has grown in popularity over time due to its beautiful scenery and incredibly appealing views. Igatpuri is a haven for those who enjoy nature and outdoor activities. This region is heaven on earth, with its old forts, gorgeous mountains, thundering waterfalls, and comfortable atmosphere.

    This charming little town is not only full with beautiful scenery, but it also has a rich historical and cultural background. This site should be on everyone’s bucket list because it is away from the urbanisation and retains a magical aura. There are so many beautiful locations to visit in Igatpuri that you’ll want to stay here forever.

    1.Sandhan Valley 

    Sandhan Valley, often known as Maharashtra’s Grand Canyon, is a stunning combination of a canyon and a valley found near the Bhandardara district of Maharashtra. The valley is one of the best spots to visit in Igatpuri, and it’s perfect for adventure seekers. This area is ideal for those looking to get away from their everyday routines and urban lifestyles. However, this is not a trek for the faint of heart.It’s one of the toughest hikes you’ll ever do.Sandhan Valley is around 2 kilometres long and is known locally as”Valley of the Shadows.” The mountain ranges of Alang, Madan, Kulang, Ajoba, and Ratangad surround the valley.

    2.Kalsubai Peak

    Mt. Kalsubai is the tallest mountain in the Sahyadri ranges and one of Igatpuri’s most popular tourist destinations. The top is noted for providing stunning views of Bhandardara’s gorgeous mountains. Because it is the tallest mountain in Maharashtra, the Kalsubai Peak is referred to as Maharashtra’s Everest.

    The summit also provides an opportunity to trek and explore it in the most adventurous way possible. The trek, on the other hand, is hard and demanding, and even expert hikers may have difficulty reaching the summit. There are also man-made stairs to reach the peak for individuals who do not prefer to trek.

    3.Tringalwadi Fort 

    The Tringalwadi Fort, which is one of the most famous destinations to visit in Igatpuri, is located at an elevation of 3000 feet above sea level. The fort is situated behind the Ghatandevi Temple and is notable for providing panoramic views of the surrounding area. Hikers and trekkers alike like visiting the fort. One of the fort’s defining qualities is that the top of the fort resembles a turban, and from there you can see the entire mountain range. There is also a tourist-drawing lake close with a Hanuman shrine. Consider this to be one of Igatpuri’s most interesting sights.

    4.Vipassana Centre

Goenka founded the centre, which is a mutt that gives meditation classes. A big golden pagoda stands at the Vipassana center’s entrance. This is also a watershed moment for Igatpuri. This centre attracts a great number of people from all over the world, not just from India.

    5.Bhatsa River

It is rich in scenic greenery and stunning rock formations, lying in the Bhatsa River’s basin.

    6.Camel Valley 

    Camel Valley is one of Igatpuri’s most attractive and popular tourist attractions. It is one of the biggest attractions of Igatpuri and is located in the Bhatsa River valley. Because there are five waterfalls that descend from a single source, the waterfalls here are quite an attraction that is difficult to overlook. Visit this valley to see the breathtaking waterfalls. This is undoubtedly one of the most interesting sights in Igatpuri.

The shrine’s atmosphere is calm and quiet, instilling a sense of faith among visitors.

    8.Kulanggad 

    Kulanggad is a fort hill in Maharashtra that is also known as the state’s highest fort.It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Igatpuri. The fort’s summit, at 4800 feet above sea level, provides a beautiful perspective of the surrounding peaks. Kalusbai, Dhakoba, and Naneghat are some of the peaks visible from here. The fort still includes relics of numerous rooms, some of which appear to have been storage rooms. A big cave can be found near the fort’s entrance, and large water tanks and cisterns may also be seen. To get to the top of the fort, one must climb the carved-in-rock steps.
